SHIVA GETS READY FOR HIS MARRIAGE

The ganas were gathered in hordes outside the chamber. As soon as Shiva and Nandi stepped out, there was a profusion of garlands, slogans and happiness in equal measure.
“Har Har Mahadev!” shouted Bhringi. “Har Har Mahadev!” chorused the ganas. “Bolo Shiv Shanker Ki Jai Ho!! Hail our Lord, Shiva!!”
The cries rented the air increasingly, and then echoed back, as though the mountains had joined the chorus. For a moment, it seemed Kailash, the sturdiest mountain of all, was shaking.
“Jai Ho Shiv Shanker Bhole Ki, Hail our lord, Shiva,” said a gana.“Jai Ho Kailas Parbat Ki! Hail too, the Holy mount Kailash! Sabse uttam yeh prabhat, Aaj Niklee Hai Shiv Ki Baraat! Ah what an auspicious day has dawned. Today is the procession of Lord Shiva’s wedding itself! Saari Sristi Naach Utthe Hai Aaj!” he finished.“The entire creation is dancing!!”
One by one, they came and garlanded Shiva. Some hugged Him, others prostrated themselves completely, till Shiva raised them up gently, as though to put life back into them. Still, others blessed Him by placing their palms on His head, and Shiva accepted the blessings with the utmost humility. Although He was Lord and master of these hills and mountains, He knew some of the denizens were as old as the earth itself, and to be blessed by them, was indeed an auspicious omen.

शिव अपने विवाह के लिए तैयार हो जाते है

गण, कक्ष के बाहर भीड़ में इकट्ठा  इक्क्ठे हुए थे । शिव और नंदी जैसे ही बाहर निकले तो समान रूप से पुष्प माला, नारों और खुशियों की बौछार हो गई। "हर हर महादेव!" भृंगी चिल्लाया। "हर हर महादेव!" गणों की धुन बजी । "बोलो शिव शंकर की जय हो !! हमारे भगवान, शिव की जय हो !!"  उनकी ऊँची पुकारों ने मानो सारे आसमान को भर दिया और फिर वापस गूँज उठा, जैसे कि पहाड़ कोरस में शामिल हो गए हों। एक पल के लिए ऐसा लगा कि सबसे मजबूत पर्वत कैलाश,  हिल रहा है। "जय हो शिव शंकर भोले की, जय हो हमारे भगवान, शिव," एक गण ने कहा। "जय हो कैलाश पर्वत की! पवित्र कैलाश पर्वत की भी जय! सबसे उत्तम ये प्रभात, आज निकले है शिव की बारात! आह क्या शुभ दिन आ गया है। आज है भगवान शिव के विवाह की बारात! सारी सृष्टि नाच उठते हैं आज!”
एक-एक करके गण आए और शिव को माला पहनाई। कुछ ने उन्हें गले लगाया, दूसरों ने पूरी तरह से साष्टांग प्रणाम किया, और धरती पर ही पड़े रहे जब तक कि शिव ने उन्हें धीरे से ऊपर नहीं उठाया, जैसे कि उनमें जीवन वापस डाल दिया। और कुछ दूसरों ने तोहउनके सिर पर हाथ रखकर उन्हें आशीर्वाद दिया, और शिव ने अत्यंत विनम्रता के साथ आशीर्वाद स्वीकार किया। यद्यपि वह इन पहाड़ियों और पहाड़ों के स्वामी और गुरु थे, वे जानते थे कि कुछ निवासी पृथ्वी के समान ही पुराने थे, और उनके द्वारा आशीषित होना वास्तव में एक शुभ शगुन था।

SALOKA - स्वयं शिवजी के संग

 SALOKA

Philosopher's often ask themselves and others the big question ,

" What is the purpose of life ?"

And while, because of the bigness of the question, the answers are many for many different minds, the Shiva bhakta smiles. He smiles because he is clear about this : Lord Shiva is the ultimate aim.

The entire purpose of his life, and indeed, as he believes , for many lifetimes, has been to be close to his Lord, Shiva.

This is called Saloka: To share the same planet as him.

Then you become Sameepa, near to your Lord.This is like having the Lord as your neighbour, and therefore being able to see Him often. Ultimately you go into Sayuja, yoked to Shiva ,in all your actions till your very character is moulded in the habit of the Lord Himself, and you become like the person you admire, your idol becomes your ideal and this is called Swarupa!

But dear friends , there is one condition to all these stages: We must not just remain theoretical about our bhakti, we must not just imagine that we are in Saloka, without taking our own steps towards it. We must not just dream about being with Shiva, we must manifest that with our own devotion and persistence.

The most important day in our lives is when we take an actual first step of departure from the comfort of our established daily routine into the journey of the spiritual adventure. If we take one step towards Him, Shiva takes ten towards us. So reach out for your Bhagvad Gita or Siva sutras, reach out and play the Bhajan you want to hear, do that meditation you want to do, and change that mindset you want to change, dump that " Street smartness " you want to grow out of and live your first day of being true to yourself, innocent and confident like the Lord you love, Shiva Mahadeva.
