WHO IS THE REAL BHAKTA OF SHIVA?

One day Shiva said to Parvati, "Where are all those who cared so much for the planet, for life, for love, for goodness, and, for God? We need to re-group all the saints who walked this earth for the betterment of all beings. We need to galvanize a council of mystics, from all ages and all lands, who in turn , will galvanize love, kindness and spirituality only; turning God’s flight back onto the course of Universal harmony.”
“Oh ! How beautiful your mind is, Shiva, and how beautiful are your thoughts..so are you really looking for good souls?”
"Yes"
"And how will you find them? in which place, or which profession?"
"Not place or profession, Parvati, i will find them by their actions"
"What do you mean Swami?"
"A persons's social status is of no meaning to me.Because everyone has divinity in them, everyone is made of my own Shiva Tattva."
"Everyone?"

" Yes. Devi, you must know that know that everyone has it, not just saints not just you, everyone is Shiva’s child, and Shiva is no one’s monopoly. How one dresses, be it ochre or be it white, makes no difference to me. All the colours are mine. In fact, young people wearing jeans seem to have sub-consciously hit upon my  favourite  colour,  Blue! Look how much of it  i used in the sky! How much spice a man  eats in his food is not of much consequence either.  I think it should be a topographical rather than spiritual preference. If he speaks softly, yet is given to hatred, or is loud, but warm hearted, i have enough discernment to see through both. Indeed, I have seen profane men speak profundities for their own interests and heard profound men being coarse, to deliver a refined message.”
What then are the real indicators of an evolved being, a God’s man?”  asked Parvati.
“Love and Kindness” , answered Mahadeva, “Some things never change, some things we can never have enough of ; love and kindness, the two real indicators of God’s man, and luckily these are far more difficult to feign than a dress or a dietary code. These spring only from true knowledge and understanding"

MAHAKAAL MAHADEVA, SHIVA!

Why is Shiva called Mahakaal?
Because, He is timeless.
Time did not exist when He did.

He is the creator of time itself, along with space.
Time and space and causation are the trinity,
that bring forth our known universe.
And Shaivites believe He creates this universe,
lovingly with His Shakti.
But look at the wonderful nature of Shiva;
Even though He is the creator,
He also meditates along with all the sadhus and rishis and shiv ganas for the welfare of this Universe.
This is because He Cares for His bhaktas.

As the prayer goes:Karpur Gauram Karunavataram |
Sansara Saram Bhujagendra Haaram ||
Sada Vasantam Hridayaravinde |
Bhavam Bhavani Sahitam Namami ||
कर्पूरगौरं करुणावतारम् |
संसारसारं भुजगेन्द्रहारम् ||
सदा वसन्तं हृदयारविन्दे |
भवं भवानि सहितं नमामि ||

Shiva is Mahakaal, the Ultimate Time Traveller. As The Timeless One vouchsafed to us by the ancient tellings of the rishis, down to our grandmothers’ tales, He is sansara saram, the very seed of the world itself, from the beginning of time: He is the Pauranic Shiva: The Shiva from Kailash. Shiva, the mountain Chieftain who lives happily with His beautiful Queen, Parvati, and the merry mountain men called ganas.
But He is also Sadavasantam, the ever green! The Adhunik Shiva; the Omnipresent, who is always here, Always seated in our own hearts, in the present, and thus the most modern at any time.
Aum Shiv Bhakti Namah!

Shiva, the eternal witness of life

( Lord Shiva, at Sri Thanumalaya Swami Temple Tower,  Suchindram, Tamilnadu).

When Shiva closed His eyes in self-repose of Shiva Dhyana,
a most enigmatic dance presented itself to Him; a dance of Time; where the past and the future got animated as players and themselves entertained Him , like performers in a carnival. It had dawned on Him that He was an eternal witness, and thus too, the realisation that the story of all life, was His story.

“After the first trance, there were many more. Each one, affirming layer after layer, the message of the first. Life was one endless sequence. It was
like a repeated throw of dice, and He knew, somehow the dice rolled from His hand. But He was not always in control of how the dice would roll. This was the interesting thing:
It was a story whose end was fixed, but the journey itself was always unknown; a completely uncharted flight to a known destination. The play seemed to be in the remembrance of the simple knowledge that all would be well by the end. But no one knew when, not even He.
The challenge was to hang onto the exciting act, with just a vague but comforting belief that though He appeared to be one of many actors, He was also the scriptwriter; That life would always have a secret to be known, but He was the encryptor.
This smug feeling was only strengthened each time He met the familiar beloveds. With each bunch of new acts that would be played out, in all the new stories that came into being, there was a flood of intimations from the past, accompanied by a great remembrance of the power that He Himself was.

SARVATRA BHAIRAVA- Shiva is all around !

Dear Friends
this very beautiful Nataraja pic gave me a very positive vibration.
And then the realisation:

'Sarvatra Bhairava', Shiva's dance is everywhere.
If you look closely, and match this with your science lessons, you will be taken back to the fact of how the entire cosmos is made up of One energy, which manifests into the smallest matter as atoms, which then join other atoms, to make molecules, and which in turn join yet more, to create elements. Shiva is 'Bhuta Ishwara', Lord of the elements, this then, is His science.

And we are also told that He enhances this skill by Bhuta Sandhaan ( combining) to make compounds, and that He allone knows the mystical science of Bhuta Prithak ( dis- engage)

But unlike the generation of 'things' by AI (artificial intelligence ), it all happens not as a mathematical equation or logarithm. The ancient Kashmir Rishis told us, Shiva creates like a poet, not out of calculation, but out of His over flowing pure ecstasy. This reminds me of a beautiful analogy i once heard : When God was a baby He spilled his milk and created the milky way! ( The entire galaxy where our own planet earth lives)

Shiva is the ancient drummer, His Damaru sounds the pulse of the Universe, it is the 'pacemaker' of the heart of this world....And commensurate with His own beat, next comes the tapping of His Divine feet...
and the dance begins; the play of Nataraja is on, and He seems to invite us by being ' The first on the floo'

We must know that we are are part of it and dance our steps accordingly, with Shiva consciousness; come, join the dance of Shiva.
Aum Namah Shivaye!

SRISTI ISWARA MAHARAJ

Sati announced Her intention to go every morning to worship the ancient Shivlinga in the royal forest reserves. The Shivlinga was so old that no one knew its history, not even Daksha or the noble ministers of the court, nor too the sages who were rumoured to have meditated in the mountains long before the city of Daksha had come into full being.

But the Shivlinga was there, in its monumental presence.
An enormous and beautifully carved out marvel, in mystic grey granite. All around it was the lush green of the
forest, and the contrast of grey and green gave it a yet greater mystic feel.
A snake or two were always seen cuddled around it, as though to assert that they were a permanent part of Shiva.
Flowers strung together as garlands, put on the Shivlinga by worshippers, were undoubtedly more transient than the snakes, but nevertheless lay alongside in devotion.
It was common for Shivlingas to have a name. Usually the devotee of Shiva who had constructed a Shivlinga would name it by adding the suffix of Ishwara to his own name, thus acknowledging Shiva’s supremacy and also immortalizing himself, in the bargain.
Almost all the devatas had ritually made a Shivlinga. So there were Indreshwara, Varuneshwara, Agnieshwara Shivlingas.
They were magical and purported to be standing in the winds, fire and the celestial sky itself.
They formed the earliest places of Shiva worship, much before the Jyotirlingas that would become popular in later times.

But this, the colossal forest Shivlinga, grounded as it was, had a magnetism to it, which none could compare. True to its enigma,
it was unnamed. No devata was even born before it existed; so who would name it?
But it did have an extraordinary title - ‘Sristi Iswara Maharaj’,
The Lord of all creation itself.

Sati loved Sristi Iswara Maharaj. Whenever She approached the forest, She felt Her feet breaking into a run; She could never just walk. In the forest, She thought She clearly heard the leaves rustling into a chorus of invitation, singing ‘Sristi Iswara Maharaj’.
She thought that they sang to Shiva, but in Her haste to get to Sristi Iswara, what She did not notice was that the leaves were actually bowing in Her direction when She ran deep into their midst.
This became a daily ritual: She would not stop running till She reached the enigmatic Shivlinga, Her heart beating and the leaves pulsating with Her run till she arrived at the Sristi Iswara.
Faster each day was the run and the pace of life, faster this divine heartbeat, the mystic crescendo that had become all -encompassing. So fast, that She would almost fall in sweet collapse at the Shivlinga.
And then She would remain there in bliss, for hours on end, day after each passing day. Till the days turned into months and the months into a year. Her entire life itself had become an offering, Her time a rosary count.

And then, one day, Shiva appeared.

WE KNOW HIM AS SHIV !

The ancient seers, looked to the sky and the earth,
the stars and the beings
and dwelled into the nature of things.
why
do some have feet
and others, wings?
What is the origin, the design, of all beings?
what, the essence of all we are seeing?
Ah, but how to think of that,
whence all thought itself does rise!
they meditated long ,and dove within.
then themselves rising,
gave a full moon smile,
"it is all ONE"
All One, but in all places!
and goes too by many names,
as love , as peace, as praise..
some call it God,
others , give their own endearing calls
to this endless infinite luminous Hall.
There,
all is awake, all Buddha,
all is compassionate, all Christ,
All is playful, all Krishna,
all is Bountiful, some call it Ma.
Others still , say Tao!
but the Himalayan Rishi saw
and declared mystically,
" Not the hall but the 'way' .
Yes, indeed, He is Infinite,
so each can have their say.
We know Him as Shiv.
The resolute. mindful. compassionate.
Yogi. Friend. Master.
Bringer of quiet repose and an abiding joy.
God?
Yes, Aum Namah Shivaye.
