IN HIS PRESENCE FOREVER
This magnetic picture of Shiva looking at Parvati fondly as She worships His Shivalinga, brings to mind the concept of Time and Timelessness.
Is it from a time when Parvati spent endless days in the mountains doing Tapasya to get Shiva as Her husband?
Of Shiva it is said He does not incarnate and remains in His great formless energy of Aumkaar. Of Parvati it is said She is the one who can make even Shiva appear in this manifest world of form.
So is it that Shiva has arrived already but Parvati is so absorbed in her devotion of Him that she is not yet aware that Shiva is right with Her. This is an important message: We may not be aware of God’s presence in our lives even though he has been seated here all the while. Just like Arjuna was not aware of Krishna being God even though they had been friends .
Or is that even after the time that Shiva and Parvati were already married and together, she continues to worship His Shivalinga in due reverence , respect, love and devotion, and not just out of a sense of ‘Duty’ ?
This is yet another great message : We should not just invoke God for a need, and then, after the need has been met, we can do without Him. Rather, We always have the need to have God in our lives.We do not just have to get His Darshan once, rather we need to have His presence in our lives permanently, and we need to be in His presence permanently. Can we too learn from Ma Parvati and make this presence of God not a ‘One time thing’ but a permanent feature of our own lives? Can the point of time God arrives be the point of timelessness, can that point be forever in our life?Meditate upon this.
