“Everything you have done is honourable, Lord,” said Himavat with folded hands.
“Hmm…” said Brahma, visibly pleased. “It is to be father to God Himself: Shiva, when He incarnated as Rudra, and accepted me as His father, that was the greatest honour!”
“Yes, my Lord, how can one ever forget your immense fortune, this great occasion that visited upon you.”
“And that occasion, Himavat, my dear man, is about to visit you too!”
“Me? My Lord, I don’t quite understand…” Himavat stuttered.

“You, my dear Himavat, will play a pivotal role to put everyone out of their misery,” Brahma looked at the devatas.
“Me, put the worthy devatas out of their misery? It will be a great honour if I can serve them in any way, Lord. May Goddess Shakti bless me to do so. What is the occasion that is to visit us?”

“Goddess Shakti. You seek Her blessings, what greater blessing will it be if She chooses you to become Her father?” announced Brahma.
“The father of Shakti?” Himavat stammered.
“Yes, you heard me correctly. Even the Gods need human parentage to nurture them in humanity, when they decide to visit earth.”
“But my Lord, this… is overwhelming… I am… I can’t actually fathom the true import of your words…”
“Hmm, I do understand, King Himavat,” said Brahma gently, “I do understand only too well!”
Then clasping Himavat’s shoulders like an elder sibling, Brahma counselled “Think of yourself more as the ‘venue’ rather than the father in whose kingdom the great Goddess will incarnate Herself; Not just the Himalayas, but you, are the venue, Himavat.”
“My Lord, I do not know how I can be so blessed, what have I done to earn this greatest of all honours…”

“Ah!”said Brahma, pleased with Himavat’s responsiveness. “It does not end here; an even greater fortune lies ahead!”
“Greater than this, my Lord?”
“Never does the Goddess Shakti go about alone in this world, She epitomizes the perfect marriage of God and His creation; the very purpose of Her coming will be to get married to Shiva.”
“Shiva?”
“Yes, Shiva, who has already taken a divine sabbatical in your mountains. He is already your guest. You are the greatest host, known for your immaculate hospitality,You cherish the ideal of Atithi devo bhava; in this case, the guest is literally God Himself! You have already provided venue to Shiva, and now…” said Brahma, closing in unto Himavat. “Your providing a venue to the great Goddess, shall actually provide the immaculate inception of Herself!”
“My Lord! I do not know what to say. Your harbingering today is too much for a simple mortal like me to digest.”
“Ah, yes. But you shall be assisted in this by your own spouse, Mena.”
“Mena?”
“Yes, unbeknownst to you, Mena is the greatest yogini of Durga even from her past life. It is she who will have to invoke Durga to be born as her own daughter, just as I, standing on one leg in deep tapasya for a thousand years, invoked Shiva.”

ब्रह्माजी ने  देवताओं की ओर देखते हुए कहा, "आप, मेरे प्रिय हिमवत, सभी को उनके दुख से बाहर निकालने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएंगे।"

"मुझे, योग्य देवों को उनके दुख से मुक्त करने का अवसर मिलेगा?  यह एक बड़ा सम्मान होगा भगवान अगर मैं  उनकी किसी भी तरह से, सेवा कर सकता हूं। देवी शक्ति मुझे ऐसा करने का आशीर्वाद दे। क्या अवसर है जो हम पर आ रहा है ? ”

“हाहा! आप इसे कहते हैं, और आप इसे नहीं जानते, हिमवत!

"क्या मेरे भगवान?" हिमवत ने पूछा।
