He is the One who has been prayed to, even when He was unseen.
And ever since the very first time He chose to make His presence known, Shiva has been loved by millions.
In the Hindu pantheon of Gods, He is called the destroyer,
And yet, known by the beautiful symbol of creation, the Shivlinga.
But never can one know enough about this amazing God.
This is because He has always been here before us all, He has been here before any other Devata, and therefore the Shaivite bhaktas know that it is in fact Lord Shiva who gives the portfolios and powers to all the other Devatas.
In this beautiful picture we see Mother Lakshmi and Kuber Devata, the Finance minister and treasurer of Universal finance actually sitting at Shiva's feet and receiving abundance from Him. It is very much like a Bank taking it's own funds from the Source, the HUGE Reserve bank.
