A beautiful Picture of Shiva alone in His mountains. But He is actually not alone, His eyes are closed in deep Self repose ,a reflection that reminds Him of all things of the past, a mystical spirit that shows Him all things yet to come.
His hair is the most telling : It is flowing in all directions. Now, about Shivji it is said all creation comes from Him, each tribe of the world is represented by a strand in His Jatta
( Hair), and in fact, in India, in some parts, when there is a death of the father in a family, then the eldest son is conjoined upon to "Jatt Chalana", meaning -to carry on the family.
Thus too this picture shows amply how the Father loves all His creation, how He has the most stories to tell. He, who has seen the very first stories from when the world itself was a baby!
Is He remembering His Shakti? Perhaps yes, this may be a time between Sati And Parvati ;When, in the face of the greatest personal storm, He waited for a sad past to evolve into a great future, knowing this too, shall pass.
It could also be the time, when He as Rudra, was imagining how life would manifest its plays when He would get married to Sati as Shiva, for He is verily the great Time Traveller, and it is His very dance to not just go up and down the stairs of time , but to create time itself.
